Fabulous Links of the Week

Happy Spring!

What a beautiful weekend here in New Jersey! I shot outdoors both days, and I’m including some of my faves from Saturday in this post.

Now to the important stuff…beauty news! Jenna Lyons moves on, three cool women share words of wisdom on aging, and a hairdresser turns his love of vintage into an Insta-sensation, in this week’s Fabulous Links!

By now, I’m sure you’ve heard that Jenna Lyons is leaving J.Crew. The woman who taught us how to mix preppy staples like blazers and chinos with high heels, chunky necklaces, and flowy tops is leaving the brand at the end of the year. Lyons single-handedly turned J.Crew from a catalog-only purveyor of basics into a fashion-forward mainstay. It’s the end of an era. I’ll be watching through my tears to see what she does next. Rocker Debbie Harry, dancer Judith Jamison, and model Pat Cleveland are all north of 65, and getting this aging thing so right. They shared their thoughts on beauty and growing older with Glamour, and I wanted to share the piece with you. I’ll be referring to their wisdom in my own life time and time again. (Glamour)

I know I’ve mentioned my love of all things vintage: Jackie O, the cancelled TV show Pan Am (set in the early 60s), the WWII era. You name it. Apparently hairdresser Tony Medina feels the same way. Medina has worked with people who rock retro-inspired looks like Gwen Stefani and Dita Von Teese. Don’t miss his Instagram, @hisvintagetouch. (Allure)

This week on the the blog, I reviewed Sustainable Youth skincare and shared some of my favorite photos from my photography class field trip to NYC.

Colorful flowers are coming out to play!

This year, I’m doing the Eyecandy Project 52 photography challenge. Every week, we have to take a picture inspired by a prompt, such as From Above. Some prompts are relevant to the time of year, some are more evergreen. I’ll post my more successful efforts here about once a quarter.

OK. One more since you asked nicely.
