Bath and Body: Babe Scrub

Babe Australia Coffee Body Scrub

I forget where I first heard about Babe Scrub, a body scrub and body care line from Australia. But I took one look at their saucy, fun Instagram, and had to try it. And I love the cheeky copy on the packaging.

I went for the coffee scrub.* The caffeine is supposed to be good for your so-called “wobbly bits.” (Yes, I have a few of those.) Between arabica coffee, sweet almond oil, and English lavender oil, your shower smells amazing! Like a Starbucks with notes of eucalyptus.

The scrub looks like coffee grounds. It smells amazing, too!

When I towel off, my skin feels soft and touchable, and in the few weeks I’ve been using the stuff, my wobbly bits seem less…well, wobbly. The scrub also contains sucrose (sugar), which hydrates skin and has alpha-hydroxy acids that can fade stretch marks. Mine have definitely faded. Bathing suit season (and my annual “defrosting” in Florida) will be here before you know it!

Australian mom-of-three Kim Peirce is the genius behind Babe Scrub. She quit her six-figure job as a management consultant to launch the line. She began by mixing the scrubs in her Melbourne kitchen using ingredients like essential oils and Himalayan sea salt.

Peirce and her husband, Joseph, wanted to create an online business that would allow them to spend more time with their kids. “We just wanted to be able to engineer our own lifestyle,” Peirce told the Adelaide Advertiser.

The company has grown exponentially since it began with an online store in 2013, and now you can buy Babe Scrub online at Sephora. You may also find Babe Scrub products at Nordstrom and Urban Outfitters, although I didn’t see the brand listed on their U.S. web sites.

You know I love me a cool body scrub. I want to try Babe Pink Salt Scrub next. You can even use that as a soak if you like to take baths. Are you as into body scrubs as I am? Maybe you make your own. Let’s talk bath and body in the comments!

This year, I’m doing the Eyecandy Project 52 photography challenge. Every week, we have to take a picture inspired by a prompt relevant to the time of year. I’m thinking I’ll post my more successful efforts here about once a quarter. Wish me luck!
